What is EATING DISORDERS
Eating disorders are disorders characterized by abnormal eating habits and an illogical fixation to body image and weight. These disorders are serious and indicate the existence of a mental condition that requires urgent medical care. Because our psychological and emotional relationship to food is complex, there are many other aspects of eating disorders such as genetic, psychological, environmental, social and biological influences. People suffering from such disorders experience significant distress and physical pain. They either overeat and then attempt to avoid weight gain through extreme measures, or eat too little.
