Celebrities, contrary to popular opinion, are not ordinary men and women. We can pledge ourselves that we’ll begin working out on Monday and keep putting it off, whereas Hollywood celebrities spend their entire lives trying to live up to our expectations.

Whether as a real-life objective or for a role in a movie or TV series, dramatic celeb weight loss is getting more common than expected. With the advent of newer more effective exercise regimes, fitness machinery, and diets, fat celebrities who lost weight come up on screen more often on social media to share their journeys and inspire others to move a leg. The loss of 100 lbs has been achieved in quick succession by many celebrities and is deemed as the biggest celeb weight loss.

We’ve compiled a list of extreme celeb weight loss, whether just for art or simply to stay in shape. It’s worth emphasizing that celebs don’t go to extremes, so don’t try these techniques at home.

Khloé Kardashian

Khloé Kardashian altered her life completely, losing weight and gaining confidence as a result. After battling to lose some weight for several years, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star started working out and eating healthier. The hard effort paid off, as the 35-year-old “Revenge Body” star said she had lost 35 pounds in April 2015. Kardashian has remained committed to her fitness practice and regularly posts photos of her exercises on social media. She weighed over lbs while expecting her daughter True, however after giving birth, she immediately got back in shape and shed lbs in 2018.

Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais had a major bodily transformation in 2011 and has maintained his slim figure ever since. The 58-year-old comic lost twenty-two pounds without making any dietary modifications at the time. Instead, the superstar of “The Office” lost weight by working out every day. Every day, he goes for a run and then completes his fitness program with twenty minutes of strength training.

Mama June

In February 2017, Mama June went from 460 lbs to a size 4 and looked almost unidentifiable. Her weight reduction journey began in 2016 when she began to lose a significant amount of weight. She next attempted to have her excess skin removed, but cosmetic surgeons turned her down since she had not shed enough pounds to complete the treatment. After her body reached a plateau and she couldn’t shed any more weight, the 40-year-old reality tv star had sleeve gastrectomy and skin removal procedures. She remained anonymous to conceal her transition and presented her new look in March 2017.

Ree Drummond

After losing 38 pounds, Ree Drummond appeared radically different. From January to May 2021, the Food Network star documented her weight loss journey on TikTok. “No gimmicks at all. She remarked at the time and said that she just decreased calories, exercised more, and lifted a lot of weights.  The “Pioneer Woman” star revealed her svelte frame and proclaimed, “I look better but I feel so much better, and that’s what really counts.”

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson saw a significant shift after joining Weight Watchers. Hudson, 38, shed 80 pounds in 2010 by combining diet and exercise. Her desire to be in shape was sparked by the fact that she was expecting her first child. “I wanted to set a good example for my son. Right after I had him, I began trying to change things,” she stated in 2011. The actress said that she used to starve herself in order to lose weight, but she learned from Weight Watchers that things in moderation are the key. “I didn’t eat pasta, fried food, red meat. I hadn’t had pizza in 10 years! Then, about two months after my son was born, I joined Weight Watchers and learned about balance … It’s about portions and balance,” she further described.

Adele

Adele caused a stir and shocked the world when she shared her post-weight-loss photos for the first time on Instagram in 2020. In 2021, she reappeared with an even smaller form. She has been discreet about herself and her life, but she has finally spoken up about her 2-year weight loss journey, which included losing over 100 pounds. She didn’t restrict herself from consuming anything, but she did stick to a rigid workout schedule that she eventually grew to enjoy and ‘has gotten addicted to.’ She also mentioned how her body has been victim to body shaming for a long period of time, which is why she prefers not to discuss her weight loss.

50 Cent

50 Cent was a notoriously buff mobster who was shot several times, including a bullet to the jaw. He started working on a film career after winning millions from rapping, and a liquid-only diet mixed with daily 3-hour treadmill runs led to THIS. In order to play a cancer-stricken football player in Things Fall Apart, he shed 4 stones.

Matthew McConaughey

For his character as an AIDS patient in the upcoming film Dallas Buyers Club, the hefty actor had shed more than 3 stone – a fourth of his body weight – in just a few months. And, as the Oscar-winning Texas native now admits, he achieved the extraordinary weight loss on very little food, leaving him irritable and famished. “It was tough going, I’m not going to lie,” confesses the 43-year-old. “The dieting was pretty hardcore. I was losing 7lb every week.”

Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill wanted to lose weight and astonished fans in July 2016 when he seemed much slimmer. Even after losing 40 lbs with the help of a personal trainer in 2011, the 36-year-old comedian was renowned for his variable weight. Hill, on the other hand, was diligent about losing weight, dropping it in 2016 and then losing weight much more in October 2017. Hill is now maintaining his weight loss and using Jiu-Jitsu to stay fit.

Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne underwent a huge transition after losing 70 pounds after years of failing to lose weight. The host of “Fashion Police!” began her fitness journey in 2009 with a weight-loss program that she maintained. In June 2013, Osbourne, 35, told ABC, “Becoming healthy doesn’t start with a diet. It starts with you mentally.  For me, it was about first realizing that I didn’t want to be the person I was anymore. Then the weight loss just came as a plus afterward.” She showed off her improved body in a bikini while on holiday in Australia one year later.

Rebel Wilson

For Rebel Wilson, 2020 has been the “year of health.” The 40-year-old actress has been documenting her weight-loss journey on social media in recent months, flaunting her slimmer figure in a variety of bright outfits, such as a bright yellow sundress. Wilson posed in an emerald bikini poolside recently, which drew a lot of attention — and “fire” emoticons — on Instagram. Wilson declared in June that her weight objective for the year would be 165 pounds.

Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy has always been candid about her struggles with weight loss. She revealed her changing weight to Us Weekly in 2013, noting at the time that she has been all sizes in the world. She’s also been a prey of fad diets, revealing to People Magazine (via Women’s Health) that she shed 70 pounds in 4 months by following an all-liquid diet throughout her time on “Gilmore Girls.” She said that she’d never do something like that again  I felt starved and crazy half the time,” she said. McCarthy then lost lbs by altering her mindset in 2015. She told Life & Style at the time that she honestly quit worrying about it.” believe there’s something about easing up and not being so scared and stiff about it that has, somehow, helped.

Jessica Simpson

After the birth of her daughter Birdie May, Jessica Simpson underwent a major transformation. Since she and her husband Eric Johnson had their 3rd child together, the 39-year-old singer claimed on Instagram that she had lost 100 pounds in just 6 months. She expressed her joy at feeling “so proud to feel” like herself once more. Simpson thanks her long-term trainer for assisting her in losing weight in such a short period of time.

When it comes to losing weight among popular figures, science isn’t needed to define which tactics work. Here are the most successful weight-loss tips, as recommended by celebrities who have successfully employed them.

1. Include a salad in every meal.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi attributes her postpartum weight loss to avoiding carbs and increasing her vegetable consumption.

2. Take notes on what you eat.

Carrie Underwood has been keeping a food journal for a long time and uses MyFitnessPal to track what she eats. She claims that if she didn’t eat enough, her brain will never get the message.

3. Order 2 appetizers instead of just a starter and a main course at restaurants.

If your sweet craving is blazing, you might also choose a meal and a shared dessert. Jennifer Lawrence’s personal trainer Dalton Wong gave her this tip, which helped her tone up for parts like Mystique in X-Men: First Class.

4. When you are out and about, prepare for hunger.

Candace Cameron Bure scheduled her meals and snacks precisely when she commuted frequently between her home in Los Angeles and her workplace on The View in New York City. She would eat prior to cross-country trips to prevent settling for airport cuisine and take snacks like energy bars to gas up for workouts.

5. Stick to the Bs during workouts.

Britney Spears’ trainer Tony Martinez had her emphasis on the “Four Bs” while getting ready for her Planet Hollywood residency: backward walking, basketball jump shots, bicycling, and balancing on one leg while doing medicine-ball slams,

6. Aim for a good-enough diet rather than perfection.

Despite the fact that Blake Lively gave birth to her baby in December 2014 and had to slim down quickly in order to portray Nancy in The Shallows the following year, she didn’t strive to live a life without pizza or spaghetti (or joy), and she didn’t count a single calorie to achieve her goals. As per Blake’s trainer Don Saladino, she just stuck to a primarily homemade, nutritious diet of proteins, veggies, fruits, healthy fats like coconut oil, avocado, grass-fed butter, and slow-burning carbs like sweet potatoes.

7. Aim for wellness rather than weight loss.

It helped Lena Dunham, who, for the fact, is not attempting to lose weight in any way. “Right now, I’m struggling to control my endometriosis through a healthy diet and exercise,” she lately titled a picture posted to Instagram. The girl boss is training with Tracy Anderson, practicing yoga, and attempting to eat regardless of the lack of appetite brought on by current events-related stress.

8. Make protein a part of every meal.

Although calorie-conscious people may be tempted to forego protein in favor of lower-calorie vegetables, it’s tough to avoid food cravings when you’re continuously hungry, which is exactly the case when you don’t get enough protein. Kim Kardashian, for instance, shed baby weight by eating a 6-ounce quantity of protein at each and every meal of the day, such as lean chicken breast for dinner, fish for lunch, and cheesy eggs for breakfast.

9. Don’t eat late at night or first thing in the morning.

Jennifer Hudson dropped from a size 16 to a size 6 after joining Weight Watchers in 2010, and she’s kept the weight off ever since. She claimed one of the secrets to sustaining her amazing weight loss is to use common sense when it comes to mealtime in a recent appearance with the U.K. television show Lorraine.

10. Seek help

Personal training, childcare, and nutrition counseling aren’t cheap, but they make dramatic weight loss much simpler, as per Chrissy Teigen, who revealed this during a Today show appearance in November 2016. She revealed what could be the biggest celebrity weight-loss tip of all time on the show: “We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies. We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that’s normal, or like that’s realistic,” she stated.
